3 Top Mistakes When Buying and Using PLR Articles

Using PLR articles for your content needs is a huge time-saver and can really help you grow your niche quickly. It can help you become the expert, build your brand, gain exposure, sell affiliate products and sell your own products.
But to get the most out of PLR, you’ve got to think it through and have a strategy. Here are 3 of the most common mistakes I see people making:

No clear purpose for the PLR.Why did you purchase the PLR? You might have picked it up to use in the near future and that’s fine as long as you do plan to use it. Set a goal, like you’ll start using it right after your current project is completed. What do you want it to do for you? Every piece should have a purpose and it’s good to know before you use it. Maybe you want to put it on your blog to help pre-sell an affiliate product. Or perhaps you want to incorporate the whole pack as an email ecourse to get optin subscribers. Any content you use should have a call to action or purpose.

Buying and not using the PLR at all. We’re all guilty of this at times. When you pick up a new batch of quality PLR, think of them as little diamonds in the rough, just waiting for you to polish them up and put them on display. Suddenly your $1/page PLR articles are looking pretty good! Otherwise, they’re just rocks taking up space.

Using it “as is”.
Don’t be that girl who’s wearing the same dress as 2 other girls at the same party. How does that make you feel? Like a copycat. Does it impress anyone? Nope.Change your PLR, make it better, make it unique. Many people don’t change their PLR articles because they either don’t know how or think it’s going to take too long. If that’s how you feel, I think you should pick up How To Rewrite PLR.   This resource shows you different ways to rewrite, giving you lots of examples, and how to add value. It even goes over how to rewrite and add value and personality to PLR reports.

If you’re making any of these 3 common mistakes with PLR, it’s not too late to change it up. Decide what you’re going to do with them, learn how to rewrite them quickly with How To Rewrite PLR , and put them to work!
Visit How To Rewrite PLR now to find out how you, too, can make the most of your PLR articles by rewriting them. They can’t help you much if they just sit there on your hard drive or you throw them up on your blog “as is”.

Top 5 Off-Site Optimization Strategies for the Newbie

Good Search Engine Optimization (SEO) involves both on-site and off-site strategies. These strategies involve several procedures geared towards building backlinks which is critical to you ranking highly in the search engines. However for this article I will be looking at off-site optimization strategies. As the name suggests, off-site optimization is employing procedures off your website itself that relates to how the site is linked to external pages. A link that points back to your site is known as a backlink.
Some procedures of off-site optimization include the following:

  • Post your site on web directories
Submission of sites to web directories is an old off-site SEO strategy geared at obtaining more backlinks. Submissions have to be done manually and based on my own experience it’s a tedious and time consuming job so, if you can outsource this function I suggest you do so. With all the recent updates by Google to their algorithms this optimization strategy has lost some of its importance. But it’s still considered a good method of improving your page rank. You should bear in mind though that you need to post only to high ranking and reputable directories. Be careful of less popular and possibly blacklisted sites, they can actually hurt your business.
  • Video Marketing
Creating videos about your business and or products and then posting them on video sites is a great way to help with your off-site optimization strategies. You should then embed the code on your own site. Video sites like Youtube are seen as an authority site and will provide you with high quality backlinks. Another advantage from this optimization strategy is getting even more traffic if your video becomes popular.
  • Social Media: Facebook
Did you know that the Social Media can be a form of Off-site SEO? Bet you didn’t. Links from Facebook won’t carry much weight where Google is concerned but with proper use of Facebook you can attract tons of visitors to your websites. You can do this by creating Facebook Fanpages, Groups, and Events.
  • Don’t waste your time on reciprocal linking
Reciprocal linking is basically you linking to someone’s site and then having them link back to yours. It’s actually an old SEO strategy of trading backlinks which is seen to be ineffective these days as it’s rather time consuming and doesn’t produce the desired results. So it’s not recommended as it can actually do more harm than good to your off-site optimization strategies. What you want to do instead is concentrate your energies on getting links from relevant sources where you can chase the links.
  • Perfecting your techniques
You need to stay on top of your SEO game to get the most from your off-site optimization strategies. How do you do this? By always, always, questioning yourself and your methods. You should test different methods and try new things. If there’s something you can’t figure out take the time to do some research and learn all you can about the area. That’s one of the purposes of the internet, to teach you.

Off-site optimization strategies are extremely important and shouldn’t be underestimated. It takes constant vigilance to be successful at your optimization strategies and the results you desire won’t come overnight. But if done right, you will get that high page ranking and the traffic will come, making a huge difference to your pocket. How Interactive Elements Can Generate Traffic

Internet marketing is getting more and more competitive and you have to find ways to stand out from the crowd if you want to generate more traffic. These days visitors are not satisfied with just coming to your site and reading your texts. They also want to be able to interact with you and others. So if you want to drive more traffic to your site and ensure they keep returning as well, here’s what you should do. You need to give them something that will involve them directly with your site. You can do this by adding interactive elements to your website.
Interactive elements are those strategies you use to get your visitors to interact with you and or among themselves that will generate enough interest to keep them coming back to your site again and again.
Here are some examples of interactive elements and how they can benefit you in getting repeat visitors:

  • Allow submissions
You can allow your website users to submit tips, articles or jokes. This is like having guest bloggers and is a great way to get fresh content for your site. Simply create a form on your home page with a link to a page where users can submit their own content. You will then include these submissions on your site once they have been approved. Now, you have two choices here. You could allow the submissions to be used any place else other than on your site. This means you use them for free and retain no rights to them. Or you could consider paying a small fee and keeping all the rights. Get some advice from a lawyer for this option though.

  • Add social sites
Do you know anybody these days who’s not on Facebook, Twitter or Google Plus? Me neither. Basically people like to interact with each other and you should take advantage of this. By adding these social sites to your website you have access to an extremely large group of traffic and potential buyers. Treat them right and you can get them to talk about you and your offerings. On the internet, positive word of mouth publicity is really important.

  • Polls and surveys
Have you ever noticed that controversial topics seem to get a lot of attention? How many times did you read something for that very reason? You want to generate interest with your interactive elements which will increase traffic. So place controversial polls and surveys on your site. You have to find a balance though as they should be in good taste. If you don’t want to make them controversial you should at least make them thought-provoking. Provide results instantly that show how other users have voted. Some web hosts offer this feature in even their most basic packages, just in case you don’t know what to do. And all you need to do is fill in the questions.

Just so you’ll do it instead of only thinking about it, having an interactive site gives you more credibility. When you create relationships with your users it builds their confidence and you in turn build more traffic. Because, more potential exist for them to buy from you and stay with you.

Keyword Placement- How to Use it Correctly

Your SEO efforts may prove futile without the strategy of correct keyword placement. Basically you need to have a good grip on this practice to be successful in your climb up the search engine ladder. After all it’s only through your keyword or keyword phrase that potential customers find your products and services. So you want to make sure you’re placing them in a way that they are most effective.
Arguably keyword placement can be confusing. But once you know the basics, you don’t have to be an SEO expert to figure it out.

  • Consider keyword density
In practicing keyword placement, one of the first things you want to consider is keyword density. That is, how much keyword you use in a particular piece of content.  So how do you decide? Well that’s dependent on who you’re writing for, whether you’re writing for your audience or for the search engines. Arguably if you’re building a relationship with your audience, don’t worry about it, just write. But if you’re just offering information you need to pay special attention to the amount used.

  • Content should sound natural
Correct keyword placement should allow the content to sound natural. It should flow logically and make sense. You should respect your audience and the search engine bots enough not to give them gibberish to read. Your audience should be able to read your content and the search engine spiders should find pleasure in crawling it.

  • How much is too much? But if you choose to write for just for the search engines bear in mind that the accepted keyword density is between 1-3% of the content. Meaning if you have a 400 word article, your keyword should be used at least 4 times but no more than 12 times. More than that and you can be accused of keyword stuffing.

  • When is keyword placement most effective?
Keyword placement is most effective in the title of the content, in the first paragraph, throughout the body, and in the ending paragraph. Try to avoid placing keywords more than once in each paragraph. Keyword stuffing your content can send you back down the rungs of the search engine ladder as fast as you climbed up.

That’s it basically. Hopefully these suggestions will help somewhat in clearing up your confusion about correct keyword placement and you’ll realize that it’s nothing to be scared of. Like I said before, you don’t have to be an SEO expert to figure it out. Do enjoy your climb to position one in the search engines.

Guest Blogging The Right Way For Maximum Gain

Guest blogging is a double edged sword for content marketers (now a days).
If you use it correctly you will reap rich rewards. If not, then you’re dead. Google might penalize your site labeling your guest blogging activities as spammy link building tactic.
Since the time Matt Cutts labelled ‘guest blogging which is of low quality and meant for link building only’ is a spammy activity; a whole lot of misinformation about guest blogging have been circulating in blogosphere.
These days novice as well as skilled bloggers are also very much scared of guest blogging on other blogs. But if you’re guest blogging with a good intention then nothing to fear about.

Why & How
So, let me tell you why you should guest blog and how it should be. Gone are the days when bloggers and SEO professionals were guest blogging toincrease their Google Page Rank and MOZ’s Domain Authority. Of course it increases your Google PR & DA, but that should not be your primary goal.
Your primary goal as a guest blogger should be to establish yourself as an expert among a new set of audience. And in the process brand building and getting new readers for your blog.
Now the question is – How to build a brand for your website or blog by guest blogging?
My answer is – definitely not by making a list of 10 blogs related to your niche and writing one-one article on each blog. I’ve seen bloggers guest blogging on 40 blogs (one article each) and finally gaining nothing out of it.

What should be your approach
Choose 1 or 2 blogs. Or even 3 blogs related to your niche. These blogs should be highly reputed with good volume of traffic. Then think… as if you’re a columnist there (regular). You can’t establish yourself  as an authority by simply writing a single piece of epic post on a top notch blog. You’ve to deliver constantly and over a period of time you will gain authority and fan following.
You should also know that the link-value you get from an author-box by guest blogging carry very less weighted these days. It is the link within the article which passes the maximum link-juice. Google’s sophisticated link analysis algorithm is very much efficient while analyzing value of different kind of links on a given page.
Let’s know a little about Google’s Page Rank and MOZ’s Domain Authority.
It’s more than 1 yr since Google has stopped updating Toolbar Page Rankon various browsers like Firefox and IE etc. You can’t even check the latest Page Rank of your blog by using various PR checker tools online. The PR value these tools show now are outdated. Because Google has already stopped updating it. And Google has also told that it will never update theToolbar PR in future.

  • The reason – Online publishers were getting biased and taking every decisions by simply considering the Page Rank (the numerical value) of a site. So, instead of displaying the controversial ‘Green Page Rank Bar’ publicly; Google decided to run the algorithm behind the screen.  Because it was encouraging webmasters to run after links instead of concentrating on creating some high quality pages or articles. In many ways Google’s Page Rank calculation is much better and accurate in deciding authority than MOZ’s Domain Authority. Moz, led by Rand Fishkin uses 40 signals to calculate Domain authority. Where as Google uses more than 100 signals to calculate the Page Rank.
  • So, you should be clear – Page Rank is not dead but Page Rank Toolbar is. Google still uses PR as a ranking signal out of the 200 ranking signals they use to rank content in search results. Whenever bloggers think about improving DA (because PR is not visible now although it is important for Google and still existing behind the screen) they think about link building via guest blogging. Of course guest blogging is one of the link building tactic, but not the best one. I personally prefer link-bait articles which have the potential to go viral earning you plenty of links from authoritative sites.

Takeaways:
So, the takeaways from this article are as below:
1# Use guest blogging as a tool to brand building and new readers Or customers acquisition.
2# Instead of guest blogging on 10 to 20 blogs (one post each) stick to 2 to 3 high authority blogs and publish your articles on a regular basis. Think as if you’re a columnist there, making yourself authoritative/expert in your field and establishing your blog or website as a brand.
